Oh America’s Next Top Model, how I love you. Of all of the series I have watched, ANTM has been the one I am most loyal to. I have seen every episode of its 16(!) cycles and now cannot wait for number 17. Now I know many people comment on the shows decline in quality these past few years, but I am not among them. Yes, I think those people have legitimate complaints, but I also think they have too high of expectations. ANTM has always been frivolous fun and a chance to see some gorgeous pictures from time to time. At its core it a reality television competition, one I rather enjoy. So when the announced that this upcoming cycle would be one filled with returners, I became super excited. In the lead up to the premier, I plan on highlighting each contestant as well as give my prediction on how they will do this season. And of course, I will be recapping and reviewing the show with fervor once it begins.
For the sake of ease, I will be simply going in chronological appearance of the models as they were on the show. First up, Miss Shannon Stewart.

We will all remember Shannon as the blond, girl next-door model who refused to go naked for one of the photo shoots in Paris. I liked Shannon enough, but she had no business being in the Top 2 against Adrianne. That spot, and honestly win, should have gone to Elyse. Shannon definitely had the ability to give decent face.

With her inclusion, expect another nude shoot sometime this cycle. I predict it will be early on in the season, just to test her commitment. Back in Cycle 7 (Jaslene!) she reappeared on the show for a photo shoot with Whitney and stated she stood by her decision. Time will only tell if she sticks to her word.
Prediction: Whenever the nude photo shoot comes along, and there will be one have no doubts, she will asked to leave for not competing. Still, she clearly has a good relationship with the show, as this will be her third time on it over the years. Tyra might be able to incorporate nudity in a way that Shannon is comfortable with, in order to ensure she does not leave because of it. Regardless, I would be surprised if she lasts past the Top 10.

Next up is Cycle 2’s Camille McDonald.

Camille was the resident villainess on her cycle, and look for her to try and continue that role here. And why not? The only reason Camille made it as far as she did was because of the drama she could produce. Insinuating that Johanna was bulimic to Tyra and Mr. Jay is still one of the shadiest things ever done on the show. Also, expect her “signature walk” comment to be brought up and thrown in her face several times. Not only from the judges, but also the other cast members that she is sure to get into a fight with. As for her pictures?

Meh. Weird posing and blank stares at the camera do not make for good photos.
That last photo is arguably her best one, and that is all that needs to be said about her modeling. Honey you are in a Italian designer's couture clothes and sunglasses, as well as being on the balcony of an ancient monument. That is the best you can do? Here is a little advice Camille, bring the bitchery or it will be quick cycle for you.
Prediction: The minute she gets into her first fight, she will be gone. Not because of the fight, but because all of the purposes she was on the show for will have been met. In other words, she is here because Tyra needed an original bitch and she can be easily mocked. She might be used as a redemption story line, but I think there are too many other girls that would apply to better. Girls that can actually model.
